Script Text

At this moment you are trusting someone or something. Is it money, health, position, intellectual attainment or ability, family, friends, church membership or religion, charms, horoscopes*, fortune tellers, or luck?

Areas of trust are many and varied; but without exception all trust is misplaced unless that trust includes God and His will as it relates itself to our lives and our living.

You may confidently trust the promises of God. Here are some of them:

Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusts in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.

Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him...for He will abundantly pardon.

Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father but by Me....And him that comes to Me I will in no wise cast out."

There is one God, and one Mediator between God and man...the man Christ Jesus.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way whichyou shall go: I will guide you with my eye."

These are only a few of the many promises found in the Bible. You can read them for yourself. There are many other things in the Bible that you should know. It tells you that the devil is the author of sin, and that he is your mortal enemy ever seeking your eternal destruction. It also tells of God and of His love, and that He is the author of good and righteousness; and that He sent His Son into the world to save you from your sins and to ensure you a home in heaven.

Have you ever trusted the promises of God? Could it be you have put your trust in many things and at this moment you are an unhappy, dissatisfied, and deeply disappointed individual? Do not be surprised that you feel as you do because this is the only way you can feel. You are trusting that which is not worthy of your trust. You need to put your confidence in God's Word, which is the Bible. If you will honestly and sincerely do this, you will find genuine joy and satisfaction in living.

Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life. Won't you at this moment ask Him to show you the way, reveal His truth and give you of His life - life which is eternal? He came for that purpose. He gave His life for you and will receive you now if you come to Him in faith, confessing your need of Him as Saviour. Jesus said, "Come unto Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." He is speaking to you - put your trust in Him, and He will take away the unrest of your heart, the sadness and depression of your mind, the heaviness of your spirit. He gives rest and peace and joy to those who trust in Him. He alone is worthy of your trust, for when we were yet sinners Christ died for us. He loved us and gave His life for us so that we could have peace with God and life eternal.
